The fourth season of the reality television series Love & Hip Hop: New York aired on VH1 from October 28, 2013 until February 10, 2014. The show was primarily filmed in New York City, New York. It was executively produced by Mona Scott-Young for Monami Entertainment, Toby Barraud and Stefan Springman for Eastern TV, and Shelly Tatro, Brad Abramson and Danielle Gelfand for VH1.
On October 10, 2013, VH1 announced Love & Hip Hop would be returning for a fourth season on October 28, 2013. The season would premiere back to back with the second season of the spin-off series Chrissy & Mr. Jones.[1] The season was preceded by 40 Greatest Love & Hip Hop Moments, a 2 hour clip show hosted by Mona Scott-Young. The special aired on October 24, 2013, and showcased the franchise's most "shocking, scandalous and dramatic Love & Hip Hop moments", featuring clips from the show's first three seasons, as well as the first two seasons of its spin-off Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta.[2]
The cast was once again retooled, with only Yandy Smith, Erica Mena and Tahiry Jose returning from last season's main cast. They were joined by Peter Gunz' girlfriend Tara Wallace, Amina Buddafly, Saigon's baby mama Erica Jean and former Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta cast member K. Michelle. Peter Gunz joined the supporting cast, along with stripper Nya Lee, Saigon and Erica's girlfriend Cyn Santana. Former main cast member Rashidah Ali appeared as a guest star in several episodes.

Rapper Peter Gunz finds himself in a twisted love triangle as he juggles his relationships with long-time girlfriend Tara and artist Amina. Tahiry struggles to trust Joe, even as he contemplates taking their relationship to the next level. Erica Mena has unfinished business with Rich, but finds herself falling in love with a woman. Yandy is trying to adjust to life with her man locked up awaiting sentencing. Rapper Saigon and his ex Erica Jean clash violently as they struggle to co-parent their new son. K. Michelle has come to New York for a fresh start.

Diaz and Vivian Gomez for VH1.
Season four of Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood began filming in February 2017. On March 17, 2017, singer Keyshia Cole revealed that she had joined the cast for its newest season, along with her estranged ex-husband Daniel "Booby" Gibson.[1]
On April 13, 2017, VH1 announced that Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood would be returning for a fourth season on July 17, 2017.[2] On June 19, 2017, VH1 revealed the show would premiere on July 24, 2017 and released a teaser confirming Cole's involvement with the show, along with a press release confirming the new cast members.[3] Season four saw the promotion of Lyrica Anderson and Safaree Samuels to the main cast, as well as the return of Hazel-E after a season's absence. Lil Fizz and Masika Kalysha were removed from the opening credits and appear as supporting cast members, with Kalysha claiming on social media that her demotion was due to her refusal to film with longtime rival Alexis Skyy.[4] New cast members include Brooke Valentine, songwriter Marcus Black, stylist Zellswag, Moniece's girlfriend A.D. Diggs, Fetty Wap's ex Alexis Skyy, Chanel West Coast, producer Solo Lucci and Bridget Kelly. Love & Hip Hop: New York stars Cisco Rosado and Jade Wifey would make special crossover appearances throughout the season. Although not included in the initial cast announcement, College Hill's Misster Ray, Alexandra Shipp's brother James Shipp Jr. and A.D.'s friend Tiffany Campbell would also appear in supporting roles.
On July 3, 2017, three weeks before the season four premiere, VH1 aired Dirty Little Secrets, a special featuring unseen footage and deleted scenes from the show's first three seasons, along with interviews with the show's cast and producers.[5] On July 13, 2017, VH1 began releasing "meet the cast" interview promos[6] featuring new cast members Brooke Valentine,[7] Booby Gibson,[8] Marcus Black,[9] Zellswag,[10] A.D. Diggs[11] and Alexis Skyy.[12] On July 17, 2017, VH1 released a 6 minute super-trailer.[13]
During the season's reunion special, Safaree announced that he was leaving the show to join the cast of Love & Hip Hop: New York. On October 20, 2017, after sparking violent feuds with nearly every member of the cast and causing controversy for making a series of anti-gay and colorist posts on social media, it was reported that Hazel had been fired from the show.[14][15] On February 7, 2018, it was reported that Keyshia Cole had quit the show, along with Masika Kaylsha, after breaking the fourth wall several times on the show to express her displeasure with producers, as well as threatening legal action and storming off set.[16][17]

Yung Joc's girlfriend Khadiyah Lewis joined the supporting cast, along with former-stripper-turned-rapper Jessica Dime, Nikko's wife Margeaux Simms, aspiring singer Ashley Nicole, Joc's baby mama Sina Bina, rapper Tiffany Foxx and Momma Dee's ex-husband Ernest Bryant. PreMadonna appeared in a minor supporting role for two episodes. Towards the end of the season, former main cast member Tammy Rivera returned in a supporting role for three episodes.
After the shocking and violent events of last season's reunion, Joseline and Stevie J are forced to face hard truths as Stevie is sentenced to rehab. Nikko's wife Margeaux comes to town, ready to expose Mimi for her lies about the sex tape. Rasheeda suspects Kirk's relationship with his new artist Ashley Nicole may be more than just business. Joc struggles to pick sides as his four baby mamas declare war on his new girlfriend Khadiyah.
The series premiere garnered big ratings for the network, with VH1 announcing a combined rating of 6.2 million viewers.[5] On August 19, 2015, VH1 announced the season as the summer's #1 cable reality series among adults 18-49 and women 18-49 and the 2nd most talked-about television series on social media overall.[6]
Love & Hip Hop Atlanta: After Party Live! is a live after show, that aired during the show's fourth season. Big Tigger hosted the show starring cast members from Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta, as well as musicians, comedians and various television personalities from different reality shows by VH1 and other networks.
The season was produced by Mona Scott-Young and Stephanie R.
